Communication Principles and Misconceptions

In order to understand the complexity of communication, it is important to first understand what communication is and what communication is not.

• Communication has a content and a relational dimension

Communication Misconceptions

• Meanings are in words.
• More communication is always better.
• Successful communication involves shared understanding.
• A single person or event causes another's reaction.
• Communication will solve all problems.
• Communication is a natural ability.
