"The cosmos is neither moral or immoral; only people are. He who would move the world must first move himself."

  • Edward Ericson

What does it mean?

Ethics is concerned with what is right conduct and what is wrong conduct. It involves making choices or judgements about what should or should not be done. Ethical persons behave and act in the right way and do not bring harm to the people in their care. Ethical behaviour also involves not being prejudiced or biased. A person who is prejudiced or biased makes judgements and has opinions before knowing the facts. Judgements and opinions are usually based on a person's own values and standard. Most professional groups have a Code of Ethics that provides rules or standards of conduct for group members to follow.
